At first, the idea was more of a foreign body for us,” admits Jörg Pfeiffer, CEO of Riester GmbH. “In the automotive industry, our main business area, everything revolves around precision down to 1000ths of a millimetre. Fire safety seemed to be a completely different issue at first.

“But the turning point came when they began developing the fire barrier ceiling. “Our partners brought this blanket one day and challenged us: 'Make something of it. 'We didn't take this too seriously at first, but then we started with initial experiments,” Pfeiffer remembers.

The more the developers at Riester looked at the product, the more they recognized its importance. “We understood that our expertise in precision work could play a decisive role in developing an effective fire protection system,” continues Pfeiffer.

‍

Over time, the team developed a sophisticated system that automatically throws the fire control ceiling over a burning vehicle. “The ecell-guard system is an example of how you can create innovations across industries. It is not just about preventing fire damage, but also about protecting people's lives and property,” Pfeiffer emphasizes.

Jörg Pfeiffer is well aware of the irony that a company from the automotive industry has now developed an important fire protection product. “Sometimes an unexpected path leads to breakthrough innovations,” he concludes with a smile.

In a new promotional film, the ecell-guard fire protection system shows its impressive protective function. The main role in the film is played by a young mother, who was chosen by a casting team. Filming this project was no easy task, especially due to the presence of a child in the movie.

The story of the film begins with the young mother preparing the birthday table for her son. They open their birthday presents together and enjoy spending time together. But time and again, the idyllic scenes are interrupted by lightning-like flames of fire, which suggest an ominous background. When the child finally plays with his new toy, the scene is shaken by a huge explosion.

‍

Only at this point does it become clear that the young mother was in a nightmare. She wakes up in her bed, relieved that it was all just a dream. She stands up, looks at her son, lovingly covers him. She then discovers a burning candle in the living room and blows it out. Relieved, she goes to the bedroom and goes back to bed. But the dramatic music points to another danger... to be continued

Filming took place in Kernen im Remstal and Erbstetten near Backnang. Involving the child in filming was a particularly big challenge. Fortunately, an experienced member of the film crew lovingly took care of the little actor, built trust and thus made the entire shooting process much easier.

We are looking forward to presenting the results soon. Especially since this film shows how the ECELL-Guard system can keep potential fire risks from burning vehicles at bay. It not only protects people and buildings, but also provides easier extinguishing conditions for the fire department.
